Spring 2012 Workshop
"Magic in the Water" Like Cinderella going to the ball, some textiles undergo some magical transformation during wet finishing http://www.laurafry.com
Laura Fry will lead a round robin type workshop, featuring various weave structures and yarns, with the goal of learning the effects of wet finishing on the woven product. Included will be honeycomb, waffle weaves, crepon, deflected warp and wefts, and some seersucker effects. Participants should be able to read a weaving draft, dress their looms and do drawdowns. Drafts for 4 and 8 shaft looms will be used. We will weave for two days and see what magic happens to our samples on the third day.
