Orange County LocalFest
Saturday, September 29 | 10am-6pm Blackwood Farm Park | Hillsborough In its inaugural year, Orange County LocalFest will offer a diverse, family-friendly festival that celebrates and promotes local food, local music, the local economy, and the county’s heritage and culture. LocalFest is sponsored by Orange County Government and is free to attend. Live music, cooking demonstrations, local artists and crafters, and educational and kids’ activities will highlight the daylong event. Introduction to Weaving for a Friends' School Camp
Wednesday, July 20, 2016, 10 am to 12 noon Triangle Fiber Arts Center (TFAC) Guild volunteers will show ten campers how to weave on a floor loom, a bracelet loom and a Weave-it. Each child will have a chance to weave on a floor loom and take home their pieces. |
Weaving for Children
Saturday, May, 2016, 1:00 to 4:00 pm Triangle Fiber Arts Center (TFAC) This event will hopefully be the first of many Children’s Weaving events. We will host up to ten children who expressed interest in weaving during one of TW’s many demonstrations at area craft events. The group will be led by five members of TW- a great ratio of weavers to learners! We will have four floor looms, four back strap looms, and a large frame loom ready to go when the children arrive. Each child will have a chance to weave on a floor loom and take home their pieces. |
25th Anniversary Celebration at the Friday Center
April through early July, 2016 Where: Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC Several of the artists and weavers of the Triangle Weavers Guild have been invited to display their work to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. Try to find time to go by and see the artwork that is displayed on the walls and the work of our own guild members that is displayed in the free-standing cases around the foyer and in the dining room. The TWG artists include Rose Warner, Ruth Ann Ross, Leslie Killeen, Karen Fisher, Pattie Lamb, Jean Johnson, Pat Stewart, Debbie Suchoff, and Phyllis Stevens. |

Where: Fiberfest is moving back to the State Fairgrounds! Holshouser Building N.C. State Fairgrounds Raleigh, NC The Triangle Weavers Guild will be participating once again in the Carolina Fiberfest. We will be demonstrating weaving and spinning, displaying our art, and getting children involved in some hands on weaving too! This is a fun opportunity to show the public what our guild is all about. There will be plenty of opportunity to help out with this event - both ahead of time and on site. North Carolina Craft Gallery Sale and Exhibit

Saturday, March 21, 2015 Where: Various guild members' studios around the Triangle region Members of the Triangle Weavers Guild are opening their homes and studios for guild members and their guests on March 21, 2015. Included on the tour will be a wide range of spaces from actual studios to spaces that have been incorporated into shared living areas in the home.
